Plastic straws

It has been announced that starbucks coffee will eliminate plastics straws on all stores around the world by 2020. Recyclable strawless lids are proposed instead of plastics straws.
The movement to eliminate plastics straws is extending worldwide, and it's a good trend for an environmental problem, I think.
However, there is an old aged person in my family, when she drinks some liquid from a glass, then there is possibility of entering the trachea. So she definitely needs straws.
I think a product of straws isn't discontinued, if it is made instead of plastics, I have trouble being high cost.
スターバックスコーヒーは、2020年までに世界中の店舗でプラスチック製ストローの使用廃止を発表しましたね。代わりに、飲み口の付いた新しいフタが提案されているそうで、それはリサイクル可能なものらしいです。
世界中でこの動きが広がっているようで、これは環境問題を考えての良い動向だと思います。
ですが、私の家にも高齢者がおりまして、コップから直接に水分を飲むと気管に詰まらせる可能性があるのです。だからストローは絶対に必要なんですよね。
ストローという製品自体はなくならないと思いますが、プラスチックに代わる素材で作られた場合、コスト高になるのは困るなぁ。
