I opened my beauty-related shop in 1998. At that time, I didn't have a personal computer and had never seen homepages. But I thought I absolutely needed the shop homepage to attract customers, so I aimed for getting the personal computer as soon as possible.

I worked hard and bought the personal computer for the first time in 1999, at last. It was 300 thousand yen. I made my shop home page quickly by WORD of software, then it was a so simple design.

Though I made my shop home page, I had to make users watch my homepage. At that time, we were popularly using a search engine Yahoo. Registered with Yahoo were public organizations, famous companies, and only some homepages passed hard judgment of Yahoo. I challenged myself to registration again and again. I learned HTML by self-study and rebuilt my homepage again and again.

At last my homepage was registered with Yahoo in December 2000. Thereafter many customers came to my shop. It is my good memory of internet I can't forget I did my best.

私は1998年に美容関連のお店をオープンしました。その時、私はパソコンも持っておらずホームページも見たことがありませんでした。しかし集客方法として絶対にホームページが必要だと確信していましたから、まずはパソコンをを購入する事が目標でした。

そして頑張って1999年に初めてパソコン買いました。約30万円のノートパソコンでした。早速、ホームページを作りましたが、ワードの機能で作った自作のそれは、まぁ〜シンプルなものでした。

ホームページは作ったけど、多くの人に検索してホームページにたどり着いてもらわないといけません。当時、Yahoo! の検索エンジンでホームページを探すのが一般的でした。登録されているのは、公的機関、有名企業など、そしてYahoo! の厳しい審査を通過できたホームページだけが掲載されていました。何度も、何度も、何度も登録にチャレンジしました。HTMLを自力で勉強してホームページを作り直し、ユーザーに必要だと思われるホームページを目標に修正を重ねました。

そして、ついに2000年12月、Yahoo! に掲載されたんです。それを機に私の店にはたくさんの来客がありました。あ〜私、頑張っていたなと思う、忘れられないインターネットの思い出です。
